Invitation for prequalification
This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement
notice for this project, which was published in Procurement Opportunities
on 15.7.2004.
The State Road Service of Ukraine - Ukravtodor (the "Employer") intends
applying the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development (the Bank) toward the cost of rehabilitation of the M06
highway.
The Employer intends prequalifying firms and joint ventures to tender for
the following contracts to be funded from part of the proceeds of the
loan:
Rehabilitation of some 96 km of road including roads, bridges, retaining
walls, landslip stabilisation, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate
chainages km 433 to km 529).
Rehabilitation of some 92 km of road including roads, bridges, retaining
walls, landslip stabilisation, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate
chainages km 529 to km 621) and construction of 3 km of new bypass at
Derevach.
The works are situated to the south-west and east of L"viv and follow the
line of the existing M06 highway, between the towns of Brody and Striy.
Qualified contractors will be invited for tendering for any of the above
contracts or any combination thereof. It is anticipated that the work
will take some 2 1/2 years and the anticipated contract award date is
late spring 2005.
Prequalification and tendering for contracts to be financed with the
proceeds of a loan from the Bank is open to firms and joint ventures of
firms from any country.
Prequalification documents may be obtained from the address below upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of 150 US Dollars or equivalent in a
convertible currency payment being made to Ukravtodor. Payment may be
made by bank transfer or the like. The prequalification documents will be
dispatched upon payment of the fee and an electronic copy in both English
and Russian will be made available. If requested, the documents will be
promptly despatched by courier and, in addition, electronically via
e-mail but no liability can be accepted for loss or late delivery.
Applicants should note that electronic version of the prequalification
documents will be issued solely to facilitate preparation of
prequalification applications. In the event of any query or discrepancy
of any kind the hard copy will govern.

The prequalification documents must be duly completed in English and,
with copies in Russian, be delivered to the address below, on or before
12 noon on 15.10.2004. Documents which are received late may be rejected
and returned unopened.
