Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) is looking for suppliers interested in participating in a dialogue about Helsinki Region Transports new backend ticketing system for HSL mobile app. We are writing to acquaint you with the core principles of the forthcoming new backend ticketing system for HSL mobile app. At this stage we are interested in gaining market understanding and familiarizing with possible providers. Should we decide its necessary, procurement process will take place later. What is it about? Information is requested about a new backend system and/or subsystems for public transport ticket sales in the HSL mobile app. The mobile app is a strategically significant sales channel which enables customers self- service by being easy to use for all users. HSLs intention is to keep the mobile app as the most popular ticket sales channel and to grow its portion of sales also in the future. The new backend system will be connected to HSL mobile app and HSL Business portal which uses HSL mobile app to show the tickets to user. HSL app and Business portal use the same backend and renewal applies to both systems. HSL mobile app and Business portal are custom built solutions. HSL is not searching for new customer facing apps, only the backend ticketing system and/or its subsystems. HSL is planning to renew the backend system of the HSL mobile app and implement account-based ticketing with a possibility of fare capping. HSL Business portal uses the same backend and renewal applies to this system as well. The new backend system for HSL app should enable agile development of fare management, temporary trials of new ticket products and campaigns for defined customer groups. HSL wants to build a personalized experience for users and manage customer relationships via the HSL mobile app. To do this successfully, customer data needs to be collected. The new backend system should enable HSL to offer the best possible digital customer experience and modern services to customers. HSL is interested in exploring options in the market of potential ticketing backend systems or partial backend system and subsystems. HSL will share the requirements definition document with potential vendors, and they will be invited to showcase their products to HSL. HSL is looking to gain understanding of the market, investigate readily available options and discuss technical enablers for the new backend system.
