This is not a call for competition. Waterford County Council wishes to
conduct a technical dialogue with interested participants in the waste
disposal/ recovery markets.
Waterford County Council predict that they will require the services of
these participants to remove, transfer and/or recover/dispose of C&D Waste
from two wetlands sites within Waterford County, located at Ballygunner
and Castletown. The total tonnage of material to be removed is predicted
to be the region of 140 000 tonnes. In order to develop the most suitable
option and contract procurement strategy, there will now be a market
consultation. This consultation will take the form of a questionnaire
which the Council request interested participants to complete. The
objective of the questionnaire is to get information regarding permitted
or licenced capacity within the southern portion of Ireland to process
and/or dispose of C&D waste. The questionnaire is located in Section II.7

an estimate of the total tonnage of this material that you believe you

what tonnage of clean processed material would you be able to store at

2) As a waste facility operator would you consider tendering for (possibly
in partnership with a suitable civil works contractor and /or haulage
company) the removal (digging out) and haulage of this material from the
two wetland sites in addition to the processing and temporary storage of
the clean material?
